Spain: Avila and Segovia

We drove from Madrid to Avila, stopping on the way at the shrine of Our Lady of Sonsoles (two suns).  This statue was also hidden in a wall when the Moors were on their way.  When a peasant found it years and years later, she said it was shining, like two suns out of her eyes.

St. Josemaria also went on a pilgrimage here.  And here is Avila

And not to leave out St. John of the Cross with his beautiful poetry

After lunch we drove to Segovia.  Known for the oldest working aqueduct.  Let me tell you, I loved it.  As you can tell by the thousand photos that are about to follow...

The cathedral, which looks like it is made of lace

The two images of Santiago

We took the secret passage way through the city

St. John of the Cross again

And back in Madrid for the sunset
