Spain: Valencia

On the third day my mom and I went to Valencia.  We did a little research for her book, toured around, and met with the sister of my brother-in-law (for the sake of brevity I usually just call this variety of family my cousin).  We took a three hour speed train to Valencia (teaching me a lot about Spanish geography).

Train is definitely my favorite way to travel....

Le Virgen des los Desaparados - or, more affectionately known as Our Lady of the Hunchback.

The cathedral of Valencia holds the Holy Grail.  Now, there are many reported "Holy Grail"s, but Blessed John Paul II visited and said mass with this chalice.  That says something, right?

Just a little Patron saint-age

This is the thinnest building in the world, according to Guinness

Astrid took us to a wonderful restaurant on the water, and the weather could not have been better

And of course we got some traditional paella, yumyum!

Impressive, no?

Rooftop of a center we visited, which was amazingly gorgeous

And just leaving you with a very touching statue of St. Joseph and the baby Jesus.  Valencia was so beautiful, and Astrid showed us such a great time.  She had everything all set up down to the minute, taking into account traffic and weather.  I want to spend more time there.

*my camera died at some point during the day - some of these were taken by Mama.
